| Serious. You Might Be Ham if...
If you leave your un-powered home wife and child before the sun rises and arrive home before the sun rises on the next morning only to grab a few hours or so of sleep and then repeat the process.
Why?
Because, that is how long it took to sort, pack, load and transport relief supplies each day to Homestead in the first few days after Andrew and while I was not technically a Ham at the time I was surrounded by them and we all had the same common goal, that being we are here we are ok and now its time to get to work and help those who are not.
So might you be a Ham?

| reply to Splitpair First thing off the top of my head is "If you enjoy helping others". I saw this in the hobby when I was only 5 some years old watching my grandfather make contacts. And the people that used to be so helpful to one another. For the greater most part that still holds true to this day.
Ive always enjoyed helping others more than myself lol, so that's one big reason why I'm a ham. Thanks for starting this topic. -- Long you live and high you fly and Smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

| reply to Splitpair ... you look at anything metallic and contemplate loading it up as an antenna.
... you'd run a phone patch, relay messages, or go out of your way to help someone treating them as if they were your own family. |
