Re: WKND

I think that was WRCH or WHUD. My fav, WRFM, was at 105 on the dial.
Another interesting station came on the air around 1981 in the Hudson Valley was WRVH at 105.5 on the dial. They played beautiful music during the day/weekdays, but on Sunday nights, they had an audiophile's program called "Adventures in Sound" with Anthony Fast as host. They played master tapes and direct to disc LPs and of course, Ed Valentine, the station founder and owner, had personally rebuilt much of the studio electronics and the station sounded noticeably sweeter than anything else on the air at the time. I did some remote concert recordings with him back then and saw their studio (very unusual acoustic design) and automation system and was very impressed with it. They put a lot of money into that station. It was a shame to see it sold in 1986 and the format changed to rock. Cumulus now owns them.
