| reply to Eagles LoveR Re: [NBA] Official Nba Finals 2009 thread Lakers Vs Magic
I simply dunno...people can't accept the fact that Lakers won 4 out of 5 games in the Finals and yet they're still not the better team in some people's eyes.
"Better team when they're on?" I don't think so. You take Lakers best game and Magic best game and Lakers will still win by double digits.
Game 5 Magic came out strong and almost lead by double digits and yet they lost by double digits too.
Wehn Magic won in Game 3, they played the best game of their lives...setting a record for FG percentage and yet they almost lost to Lakers who played poorly. |

The "better team" The Orlando Magic got blown out not once but twice and lost 4-1... kinda sad when they were the "better" team... Kobe got his without Shaq he/she never came back to this thread Congrats Kobe and to Lakers. Take note Phil wins championship by threes. Two threepeat with the Bulls and 1 with Lakers. Now I think he's cooiking up another one. Good call, I never came back to the thread? I am 3 posts up from you on the same day even.
I clearly said also on page 1, they are the better team when they are on. They were simply not on. They played horrible and barely lost 3 of the games. Only "blown out" in 2 of the 5 games. -- Graphic Disorder |

Good to see someone win who really really wanted to win! |

I think there were 2 OTs, and the Magic won a game. So its not like it was a walk in the park for the Lakers. People often forget that stuff when they look back at the 4-1 talley.
They were def the team that wanted it the most though. Congrats Lakers. -- Graphic Disorder |

In Spike Lee's Documentary on Kobe (Kobe Doin Work), Kobe goes on to explain that he always addresses the team first with what he thinks they should do. The guy works extremely hard for his knowledge for the game, so he's earned his right to talk in the eyes of the team.

During the games he trust his players to perform what they learn during practice. The only time you still Phil up and coaching is when his team really fucks up. I forgot which game it was during this series but he got on Odom's ass for dumbass foul he committed in the game. -- I'm a guy with simple taste. I enjoy dynamite, gun powder and gasoline... |

I thought they would at least put up a good effort in Game 5 so the Lakers weren't celebrating on their home court...
