| ZyXEL NBG334W 3.60 Firmware
I want to install the newer 3.60 firmware in my ZyXEL NBG334W router.
Just so I'm totally clear on this before I begin: Is the "360BFO0D0.bin" file the only one of the 5 files I need to select to upload to the router?

Aside from giving functionality to the WPS button on the router, anything else significant about this firmware upgrade? -- Terry

| The .bin file is the standard file for ZyXEL products that use ZyNOS, which you need to upload. But read the DOC file for any mention of any other files or procedures that might be needed to do an upgrade. -- "Perl is executable line noise, Python is executable pseudo-code."

I uploaded the .bin file into the router without issue this morning.
Of course I tried to read the .doc file, but except for about 4 brief sentences on the second page vaguely describing the upgrades included, there were no specific instructions on which file needed to be installed. The remaining 14 pages may as well have been written in Greek with my barebones knowledge.
My thanks to both of you for the responses. -- Terry

| said by SoonerAl :Thank you sir... How is that 3.60 (AMS.4) firmware working for you? Been running it here for a week now and it's been smooth as silk. In fact, I've had the NBG334W going for 3 months now since it was new and it's the greatest!
Not a single disconnect related to the router. Electric power has gone down breifly a couple of times and there's not even any user intervention required with this router, it just re-boots and starts working again after power is restored. Far cry from the PITA NetGear 314 I used previously. -- Terry

Far cry from the PITA NetGear 314 I used previously. I installed on Saturday morning. Really no change as far as operation is concerned. It just hums along. The upgrade went well and my wife's XP Pro desktop and our Wii reconnected just fine after the upgrade.
I consider my NBG334W a darn good router considering I only spent $20 for it and the included G202 USB adapter. -- "When all else fails, read the instructions..." MS-MVP Windows Desktop User Experience |
