In my first post not only was the 2wire set up and connected to the internet but I was connected using the WRT54-G as well. I ran the speed test through my laptop which was connected to the Linksys.
When I had it set up here at the business I was plugged from the 2wire lan into the WRT54-G internet port. Then I was wirelessly connected to the WRT54-G (I am sure) with my laptop. The WRT54-G while connected and working in the business was in DHCP mode.
I don't understand and would love to... why it is that it works in the business... but when I bring it back to the house it doesn't and I have to change these settings?
The set-up is exactly the same... the only difference is the Ethernet cable which I tested and works.
To make trips back and forth from one router to another quicker I decided to bring the WRT54-G into the buisness and use a different ethernet cable.
My guess is the cable from the business to the house is bad? If that cable is good you should be able to see the 2wire pages from the house and the lan port link lights should be lit
