| Total House DVR NEWS
i just posted this on a review thread but thought it note worthy enought to post seperatley:
Here's something you all might find interesting:
I signed up for Uverse last week (southeast Michigan). I have 6 televisions in my house (nevermore than 3 on at a time). As most know each television has it's on box - on June 15 AT & T will enable DVR functionality on EVERY box providing me with over 700 hours of recording space in SD or 200+ HD. Each DVR will be accessible from any TV. If in fact both people were telling the truth AT&T just trumped every service out there. |

| They cant enable actual recording on all the boxes, since the others don't have hard drives. (at least mine don't)
But when they offer the ability to pause and schedule from any box it wont matter, all will be equal. |

gdm Premium,MVM join:2001-06-15 Mchenry, IL clubs: | That's what I said above, you can't schedule. Phase II is supposed to be record, schedule and delete. Phase III will be pausing live TV from the STB's. |

Ok, ok, I made that up...
But why stop @ Phase III? |

Unless something has changed (I will verify this later just to make sure), I have been able to record, schedule, delete and pause from ANY stb for quite some time. Infact I know this since I do a lot of work from my office. Although I think it uses the Main DVR stb to do all of this, its not standalone on each STB. |

@sbcglobal.net | I think you mis-understood, I am able to do this from ANY stb. Again, I will verify this later, but I do use these features and do this quite frequently, so I am 98% sure. |

| Ok, just to make sure I wasn't being a total idiot, I went ahead and checked now. I have 1 DVR STB, and 3 NON-DVR STBs, all of them are able to use the same DVR functions & features, including recording, scheduling, deleting, and pausing. Am I not supposed to be able to do this for some reason? Just the idea I am getting from this thread... |

gdm Premium,MVM join:2001-06-15 Mchenry, IL clubs: | reply to Jdidy uverse Not sure how that's possible because it hasn't been rolled out at all. AFAIK it's only being used in the labs. |

@sbcglobal.net | Weird, I guess I should consider myself lucky then. Would be quite annoying if it worked like any of the other ways mentioned here. |

| reply to tsfrawl I have the service and it's great, but I've never understood why the capability wasn't there from the beginning? I wouldn't think it's a BW issue from the RG\DVR\STB since both coax and CAT5 have plenty of bandwidth. I wouldn't think the coding would be that difficult, but I could be wrong. The only reason I could see would be hard drive speed in that seek read\write times would have to be fast to support 4 STB's recording\playing simultaneously. Perhaps someone else has more info? |

Are all your STB's Motorolas? |

Are all your STB's Motorolas? Yes, all my STBs are the greyish/silverish Motorola boxes that most everyone (atleast newer installs) seem to get, with the Red, Blue, Green lights. |
