Please Charter, die already.....

They need to go under and have their assets bought by companies who truly want to GROW their business....not simply maintain or decrease it. That place is a joke to deal with, even on a local basis. Of course....my opinion only...

You mean have TWCand comcast buy them and be one step closer to a country wide cable monopoly?

Comcast probably can't buy 'em because of the 33% rule. Now if they can get around that rule then yes, they'll probably buy and it'll be a step closer to a cable monopoly.

Otherwise the big buyer would be Time Warner Cable (they serve Kansas City so the STL market isn't too terribly far away). Problem there is that TWC is stuck in 2002...they don't want to deploy DOCSIS 3.0 anywhere unless there's heavy competition, and they want to cap everyone as soon as possible to protect their TV revenues. Unless you have a lot of competition in your area for internet service, you don't want TWC to take over.

Unfortunately I still need Charter. I wish Verizon or even Cox or Comcast would pick-up their territory in SE Louisiana but one can only wish!

I hope Charter comes through this they provide quality service in my area. Its good to have options when choosing a provider if Charter left my area that would leave ATT with there 100 year Uverse roll out plan.

Same here. Charter rocked me for over 9 years. Never had an issue to speak of.

Only reason I switched to Verizon was the threat of Charter monitoring usage and NOT telling it's customers or having a way to determine/show your usage.

Turned out that I got faster speeds with Verizon and it's $7 a month cheaper!!

I live in Mandeville. I already had cable, so I scheduled a technician for HSI. A sub-contractor came, spent 5 hours and could not get the HSI to work. In the months that followed, here is what happened:
1. 30 phone calls to Charter Customer Service
2. 27 Charter Customer Service people hanging-up the phone on me and transferring me to the Spanish line as a joke
3. 7 Charter Customer Service people calling me the "s, f, and a" words

So, I called AT&T. Within 3 hours, I had DSL service.
