[Notebooks] Can't Adjust Brightness On Laptop!

Hi there,

I have a Toshiba Satellite U205-S5034 with Windows XP Service Pack 3.

I have been searching for hours and hours and I can't seem to find the option that lets you adjust the brightness of the screen! What am I doing wrong?

I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Normally it's the FN key and two of your arrow keys up/down.

On these VAIOs, it's Fn + F5 for darker - Fn + F6 for brighter.

On some of the older Toshibas, there was Toshiba branded display control software.

On my old Toshiba Satellite 5205 series, the F6 and F7 keys controlled the brightness.

Re: [Notebooks] Can't Adjust Brightness On Laptop!

On almost all notebooks, there will be an annotation on the appropriate key(s) for the brightness up/down option. Generally, you will see a "sun" sign, usually a combination of the Function "fn" key and another designated key (or 2 keys, 1 brighter/1 dimmer). Even within a given brand name, different models may have different keys assigned. If worse comes to worse, you can always go over to Toshiba's web page and download the user's manual for your model #.

Blue labeling denotes key has alternate function if the "FN" key is held(FN has blue labeling).

My Sony VAIO "F" keys for display pictured above.
