Re: T1 over a short run of Cat3 cable? How short (or long) of a run is it? Are you trying to route the smart jack signal over the cat3 or the ethernet side, after the router/CSU/DSU over the cat3? The smartjack signal should be OK but I wouldn't do ethernet over it. It will probably work but if it's not twisted pair cat 3 it might give problems. Actually that might give problems for the smart jack as well. Will the ISP/loop provider not drop the Smart jack where you need it? They may charge for it but it might be worth it to get it where you want it and it will be up to them to do it without damage or fixing any damage that is inevitable (such as opening up walls). |
