Re: Port forward w/o DHCP

said by joako:

When I go to Firewall -> Firewall settings it only shows the DHCP clients.
The 2wire's I've configured allow port forwarding for dhcp clients and computers with user assigned tcp/ip info, the user assigned devices use the ip address if a name has not been specified

Where do you add the IP address? All I have is a dropdown list that shows the DHCP clients.

You shouldn't need to add the ip address
Static ip devices will be listed by ip address on the view network summary page

The computer is not getting a DHCP lease from the 2wire, instead it is set to have a static IP in the computer's network configuration.

I didn't overlook what you posted
"I need to use another DHCP server on the LAN, using the 2wire will not work"

Are you using a second router for the lan
No matter the details the 2wire is the gateway for the lan

Everything is connected to the same dumb switch. DHCP is enabled on the 2wire. I need to remote into the network to change the DHCP server settings to assign the correct default gateway. There is 1 machine with a static IP address and it can access the internet.

That does not quite make sense. The LAN IP of the 2Wire is your LAN gateway. If you try to remote into that PC on your LAN to change the gateway (2Wire LAN IP), the PC you remoted to would suddenly not have a proper gateway, so you would not be able to reconnect to it to fix its gateway.

All is resolved now. Someone was putting the default gateway into the "static routes" instead of the proper place.

The 2wire is not the DHCP server, I needed to change the DHAll> All is resolved now. Someone was putting the default gateway into the "static routes" instead of the proper place.
