| Whats the best you got from cancellation department?
Last time I called them they threw in showtime and the modem for the same price I was paying. Anyways I got a deal from Time Warner for 15 less than I am paying now for faster internet than I have through Wow and two dvrs and 1 is HD. After that year it goes up to 5 more than what I am paying now. I only have 1 dvr now through wow and its not HD. Anyways they offered me 2 HD dvrs but instead of comping close to what time warner was offering it was 15 more before tax.Kindof disappointed I like WOWs service but I still get less with them and they want me to pay more. Oh well might be time to cancel.
Also I looked it up if I were to sign up as a new customer for the same services and its only a 15 dollar difference of savings. |

1 edit | When I left WOW!, I had 2 SD DVR, Digital/Starz and 2/600 Internet For $90, and they could knock $3 more off to stay.
At Comcast, I am about $90 for 2 DVR (HD Ready), 1 SD Set Top Box, HBO, and 12/2 Internet with Power Boost, and free McAfee. And some rabidly active DLSR forums. All HD channels available can be viewed on SD television unlike WOW!
Most of the Comcast fervor is about the coming Docsis3(D3) 50/10 speeds and the followup 100/20 speeds later. (Too expensive for me.) And the 250Gig bandwidth cap on residential services. --

| reply to corinthos Well just I actually called to cancel for real and not just discuss it for a discount. I just told the lady the deal they offered was pretty crappy. She went over it gave me 1 HD dvr which is what I asked for instead of the 2 the guy was trying to give me.I'd have to look at my bill over but I currently pay 85 after tax and this is going to be the same except they just took my showtime and gave me and HD dvdr and uped my internet from 2 (which I thought I was on 8 this whole time, I wondered why it was so slow) to 15. I'm ok, I like keepin it under 100.
So hd dvr, dvr, 15/1, and there modem and it should be 86 after tax which is where I like my bill around. Canceled my showtime and going to try out netflix streaming and will probably just get it again for Dexter. |

| reply to corinthos I've never had any success with WOW lowering their prices for me when I call them. Even when I considered switching, I basically got a "Best of luck in the future Sir" response. I think that WOW knows that I was completely fed up with Comcast when I had them (Terrible customer service) and regardless of price of quantity of service...I'm not likely to move back to them anytime soon. While maybe not the absolute best service plan for the $, their customer service is FAR better and to me, that makes it all worth it. |

I am strongly considering switching to U-Verse but some incentive from WOW may help them keep me as a customer. |

That simply seemed to work. |

***TV Digital Basic 1x HD DVR 1x SD DVR 1x Digital Box
***PHONE Advanced Phone with Caller ID to TV
***INTERNET 8/1 Internet
How does that compare to what you guys are paying? |

Looking at my bill, I see I'm paying almost $20/month for the second DVR. That's outrageous!!!!!
For contrast, Time Warner came by and said they could beat my current package (without asking what I had). The exact same package with TWC, which does not include Encore/Starz was $151.70 before tax. When I told the rep I was already paying less she called me a liar, said it was impossible, and asked to see my bill for proof. After I showed it to her, she asked if I wanted to switch services |

| reply to corinthos I was going to cancel, but their discount was longer then I would have gotten from Dish or Direct TV. They knocked $10 off my bill for 18 months and were willing to give me a digital box, I tried to get them to add a HD box for my 2nd tv but no such luck. I ended up adding one anyways with the extra savings. Plus I can add the Digital Variety Pack during College Football Season, when those channels are actually worth having, for the same price im paying now. |
