Whoa... wait... slow down. So you're saying your first PS3 scratched your Blu-Ray game beyond the coating? That is some serious fault and you should have gotten your money back (used or otherwise... raise hell). The BR coating does help prevent scratches, but of course nothing is ever fool proof. To say the coating is a lie is really pushing it considering you are the only one who found a player that damages the disk that I have heard of.

Yes, I did raise significant amounts of hell, and they didn't believe me until I showed them the gouges on the disc's data side for MGS4.

Did this happen to more than one game, or only that disc. My thinking is that the disc was slightly warped.
