2. Any tips for making my linksys WRT54G router not have a strict NAT? Turn on UPNP in the Linksys after making sure you have the latest Linksys Firmware installed to fix all the early bugs.
Make sure the Linksys is setup for PPPoE and getting the Public IP on the WAN which means the Speedstream Modem/Router must be in Bridge Mode, as seen in the WS FAQs.

and do you really think i'll be able to get my password after 4-5 years of not using that e-mail address? |

| reply to Jeb Stuart Jeb Stuart - that is correct. You would first set your 4200 to bridge mode, and then in the setup interface of the Linksys you would set it up for PPPoE and supply the UN/PW.
The bridge mode concept, in this situation, only allows the 4200 to handle the DSL signal. The PPPoE connection responsibility is then passed to a shim, usually either a PC or a router. In this case, the responsibility will fall on the Linksys, with it set up for PPPoE.
As far as your password goes, the Help Desk should be able to assist you with that information. They will need to verify you are an authorized person on the account, then they will release the information to you. -- We're here to help! wci.broadbandhelp@windstream.com |
