I also have it rigged up with aux lenses from my prior camera(s) which take it to over 6000mm (35mm Equivalent) and it remains hand holdable at 1488mm (Full telephoto zoom with a Tokina 3X aux telephoto lens..) My whole kit weighs about 12 LBs - which I wear in a photographer's vest. I'm sure that a Nikon or Canon DSLR may get better results - but I shoot a lot of wildlife, and a real 750mm lens on a DSLR is just too much to carry - and also hard to point at the target. The Z28 gets very crisp results - especially, it seems, after you set a custom white balance with a white card. (Some of the aux lenses alter the color unless you do so...)
Thank you for your reply, it's looking like this isn't too bad of a decision. I understand that the depth of field won't be as great on this camera, but the lower carrying weight can more than make up for that. (Not to mention, Alienware Bokeh.  )

| whoa... actually the DOF will be BETTER then a dSLR not worse!! Well, depends on if you like more or less DOF. I typically prefer more for most things I do, so it is better. But when doing things where I want less it can get a bit frustrating, but is still usable.
Alienware bokeh!!?? It has got darn nice Bokeh IMHO:

| It seems that the places I was going to buy this camera from have stated it is discontinued. Panasonic still has it listed on their website ... is there something I am missing? (I checked B&H, Newegg, and Amazon has a much higher price than before.)
I wonder if Panasonic is going to be releasing a new version of this camera and I should possibly wait for a bit to buy? I just don't want to drop $300.00 on this cam now and they release one tomorrow. I am sure I will be happy with this camera, but nobody wants to buy something that is discontinued.
I don't think I would have an issue with panasonic on the wtty though, do you? I may just quit mucking around and just hit the buy now button ... unless any of you can find a better deal on it?
