I will always object to stopping/controlling P2P until they stop the spamming. And I doubt that will happen...
Spam isn't gobbling up bandwidth in the last mile like P2P is. Not the same thing at all.

Besides, Spam costs the customer money and generates money for the ISP, whereas P2P costs the ISP money. These are prioritized accordingly.

Curious. What do you mean by saying that spam generates money for the ISP?

The people that create and send the spam usually have a considerable amount of bandwidth themselves, despite the fact that they use nefarious methods. Unless things have changed, which is possible, these guys aren't running their operations from a Starbuck's.

And...

The people that File Share usually have a considerable amount of bandwidth themselves, despite the fact that they use BT/Usenet/Direct Download. Unless things have changed, which is possible, these guys aren't running their operations from a Starbuck's.

Sorry jmn... I had to point that out.

EDIT: It has been said, many times by many people, The only reason for faster connections is for filesharing or "stealing".

Well, I have 16mbps x 2mbps.
But, seeing as I barely hit 35GB per month combined directions... something just doesn't add up, does it?

"Thief!" (But the MPAA appreciates your eventual business as it calls you that.)

I think that should be part of the MP/RIAA's New Quality campaign: "No Shit!" When you see those words on an **AA release it's guaranteed to be good or double your bandwidth back! Ah well, I can dream...*grin*
