The reason for the lack of EXIF is the processing. All the images were taken with a Nikon D-40 through my 8" F-10 telescope. The "close" and "closer" images were taken with an f-6.3 focal reducer installed between the scope and camera. The "closest" was straight F-10 (2000mm). There were a number of shots taken, generally about 20 to 30 images at about 1/6th second shutter speed at ISO 200. . The images are stacked in a program called Registax which aligns them and stacks them on top of each other. The stacking helps increase the signal to noise ratio and will also help with sharpness. Then the final image is adjusted in Photoshop. The above image is a comparison between a single shot and a bunch of shots stacked. -- mbsastronomy.com |
