I'm trying to upgrade my old Speedstream 4100 to a DSL/Router for more network expandability. I'm flat out of network ports/cards and I have another computer that needs connecting. This Router/DSL modem thing is driving me nuts!
I entered the DSL connection settings exactly from the old modems technical readout. I entered my login and password information and it appeared to establish a connection. It's showing all green on the DSL diagnostics page and it's even being assigned a WAN ip address. For some reason I still have no connection to the internet!

The modem/router is assigned 192.168.0.2 My computer was assigned 192.168.0.3 by DHCP I can ping 192.168.0.2 I get time-outs when I try and ping 76.210.151.254, 68.94.156.1, and 68.94.157.1.
The router seems to be able to ping the gateway. Why can't my machines do the same? It's almost like this router is giving its clients the cold-shoulder. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks for any help anyone could give me. I'm pulling my hair out over this thing..
Also I just noticed an odd entry appearing in the routers log file: kernel: Intrusion -> IN=ppp_0_35_1 OUT= MAC= SRC=70.83.186.5 DST=76.210.150.144 LEN=48 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=114 ID=24162 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=2235 DPT=21579 WINDOW=65535 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 |
