My wife, Kursten, will also be playing. We are both novices in the stock market, but would like to learn more, so this will be a learning experience for us.

I'm kinda scared. Never really been into the stock market. I signed up though.

Ok, just to make sure I get it before we start. We take our "virtural" money and buy real stocks just to see how we do, right?

Like, I could buy some shares of DOW (not that I could), but then I can sell or trade or something?

That is correct. You use the virtual money to buy real world investments and see how you do it approximately 90 days.

any strategy/hints for new players?

obviously, focusing on short term gain instead of long... buy low sell high, but anything that isn't so obvious?

There are some sites out there that make educated guesses on how a stock is going to open for the day as well as IPO offerings that I usually look at. There aren't too many 'trending' websites out there that are free, so that might be a challenge...

I put Neil Cavuto's business show on my DVR schedule, and I might do whatever he tells me to

that and invest in my own company, cause that is the right thing to do.

I'm in. Man, I haven't done the virtual day trading thing in a long time. I think when we were done, I had like a 3000% return on my original investment.

I forgot who it was. Was one of those redneck canadians... Steck maybe? I can't remember the name. He was crushing with some several million odd dollars.

I'm going to see if my method still works. I always told myself if I had that kind of change laying around in real life, and the time, I'd go get myself rich.

Edit: Also glad to see I won't have to deal with those who penny stock flop/reset portfolio.

I might sign up, no guarantees though.

These games REQUIRE that you day-trade to even come close to being successful. I wonder if my OptionsXpress account is still open so I have the real-time quote tracker...
