| Go to your hosts file... C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/host file
The object is to have the webpage names resolve back to your own nic 127.0.0.1, there by giving a page not found.
I tested this as a project to block my grand daughter and used her username and pw to test. You can do the same with Facebook.
Go to their web site and click on any link that is there. Note the link and place into the host file. You can also use IP address ranges: Example 127.0.0.1 66.10.10.10-66.10.10.100
A good way to generate your list is to use Notepad or Word then copy and paste to your host file. Example below:
127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 myspace.com 127.0.0.1 www.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 addressbook.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 blog.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 browseusers.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 bulletin.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 collect.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 events.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 favorites.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 forums.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 groups.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 home.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 invite.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 mail.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 music.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 musicsearch.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 profile.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 profiles.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 search.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 signup.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 topartists.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 vids.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 videos.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 viewmorepics.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 latino.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 www.lation.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 www.faq.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 faq.myspace 127.0.0.1 www.advertise.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 advertise.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 signups.myspace.com 127.0.0.1 www.signups.myspace.com |

| reply to rdcamc I've never used a 5890 and I don't have one or have access to one to work with so I don't know if there is a Web Form/Page in the Interface that you can use to enter the blocks/drops or if you would need to open a Telnet session so you would be able to create individual command line entries for each of the FQDNs listed above (by typing in the basic command repeating everything except the part about the different FQDNs to block/drop).
I can only suggest to read this if you don't already have it:
Here are the 5890 Documents. »kb.efficient.com/article.asp?art···54&p=351 quote: CLI (Command Line Interface) Guide
# Products The Siemens family of SpeedStream Business routers
# Overview This manual contains information on the syntax and use of the Command Line Interface for the Siemens family of Business routers.
