Re: Slow Connection

Download DrTcp

Set Tcp Receive Window to 128480

Set Selective Acks, Path MTU Discovery, Black Hole Detection to Default.

Leave Max Duplicate Acks and TTL Blank

Save/Exit DrTcp

Reboot

Rerun the Tweak Test

Run Two Speed Tests from the two DIFFERENT cities nearest to you that are listed here: Speakeasy POPs

Also, test here »ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/test512

Note your transfer rate after about 30 seconds. Then cancel the download.

Post the URL for the New Tweak Test. For the TWO Speakeasy Tests, Copy and Paste the speed results from those tests and note the speed from the FTP download test.

Re: Slow Connection

• Speeds look good.

• You still have some packet loss and high latency at your hop.

• I have a feeling that the issue is with your ISP and not with you. It is somewhere between you and the CMTS.

• Before you call your ISP, check all your connections and make sure that they are good and also tight. Any splitters?

• Pull the router and direct connect to the MODEM. Reboot the MODEM and the box and run the speed tests and the LQT again.

• If the speeds are still good and your hop still shows an issue, call your ISP. Put the router back in and reboot the router, the MODEM, and the box.

Your LQT is showing packet loss and high latency at your hop. Doing the tweaks may not result in optimum performance. I'll come back to this after we see the results of tweaks.

Re: Slow Connection

For your speeds ....

That’s about as good as it gets. It isn’t going to get much better than that. Put a fork in it you’re done.

Good luck with Comcast.
