Make that 2... You can read my review as well. Trust me as with ViaTalk if the service becomes screwy I will be the first to let people know!
When I first went with PhonePower is was a little rocky, but it could have very well been Verizon. We had about 10 phone calls where people complained we sounded robotic. Since then we were put on a different router @ the DSLAM and our HT-502 has been updated. So it is\was hard to figure out the real culprit. I myself think it was a combination of latency and a congested router? Since these are circumstances beyond PhonePower's control I can't blame them.
Just be aware that every VoIp service has hiccups due to latency somewhere, dropped udp packets, etc. PhonePower sounds like we are right next door and can hit the other party with a stone 99% of the time. Like any over VoIp service that uses the public internet you may get a few calls with a little echo? Or we might pick up the phone, dial a number, and nothing happens? So I hang up call again and the call goes through with no worries.
Is my service bulletproof, no! What service is? Is PhonePower reliable enough so I can pick up the phone and not have to worry if I'll get a dial tone, dropped call, fast busy? Hell Yeah! Welcome to the club and feel free to PM if you would like to see what service is like without the PTSN in the way. |
