tether?

They are going to allow tethering on the iphone without a tethering plan? or is just an upgrade finally to let people tether without jailbreak.

They announced tethering support with 3.0 OS, but AT&T wasn't one of the supported carriers they mentioned.

Oh, they'll still charge extra for tethering, otherwise it would undercut their Blackberry tethering plans. Jailbreaking will still be mighty compelling if/when it catches up to the new phone and OS 3.

3.0 has already been jailbroken. I'm sure the new iphone will be the same very shortly after the developers get their hands on it.
