The 3pm newscast seems to be error free.
I am still noticing on some reports the b roll video is not deinterlacing correctly and it still has heavy digital compression.
Is there any chance in the future there reports have more bandwidth for cleaner video? |

I have flipped this on at random times over the past several weeks and unfortunately I never see any news!! mostly talk shows or some local school sporting event. Isn't this supposed to be primarily a news channel? When I see News1 in Queens or News12 in various locations they always have, well, news on! Disappointing to me. |

| Maybe Mercer County will get it when NYC gets it. From what I know, FIOS 1 is supposed to compete with News 12 and NY 1 and be in all markets by the end of 09. Maybe it suppose to compete with CN 8. , which is Comcast Local News channel, but I am not sure. No one should be left out with FIOS 1, including Mercer County especially if Verizon wants customers from Cable, but they also know that NY 1, CN 8 and News 12 is making customers stay and not go to FIOS |

| With Comcast we got CN 8 and News 12 NJ. I found CN 8 way too "fluffy" and Philly/South Jersey-centric for my liking, although I occasionally found something of interest to watch. News 12, on the other hand, was great. It catered to the whole state and did so in a very professional manner. I didn't watch it all that often, but whether it was NJ general news, politics, weather, sports or traffic, when I wanted to know, News 12 was the solution.
I miss News 12 and had hoped FiOS 1 would fill the void. So far all Verizon has given me is the void! |

Nobody is implying that Mercer County, NJ is "a lot more of an important area" than NYC, but where do you think some of those "wall street investors and madison avenue advertisers" live and actually do the bulk of their TV watching? |

i flipped on the tv this morning and every station had coverage of the plane crash in NJ and fios 1 did not. very disappointing so far. hope it improves. |

One positive I can note is, bad storms are moving into the area.
I tuned into FiOS1 and the radar map was live.
Either the forecast was live or they inserted the live weather graphics into the taped newscast.
I think it's going to be some time before FiOS does live reports unless the video comes from RNN. |

My only issue with FiOS1 weather is the 3 to 4 hour old weather forecasts at 11pm.
I think if there is very bad weather they will update the forecast, but having old radar maps on screen is not that good. |

I'm curios how long it will take FiOS1 to cover the plane crash at the Rockaway Mall.
Small plane and apparently no injuries for the concerned. |
