bobc2112 : The spray took to it much easier than I thought it would. Not sure if it was Powder Coat though. I used Rustoleum Universal. The inside is Flat and the outside is <strike>gloss</strike> Satin. I was able to disassemble the panels and do them one at a time (killing as few braincells as I could at a time). I picked the paint based on the fact it had a cool can (Kinda stupid but it worked out).

»www.rustoleum.com/CBGBrand.asp?bid=16

Work In progress

bobc2112 : Still have work to do, and will need to run some new Cat5e or Cat6 lines because I was short sighted a few years back and am limited at this time to this spot in the garage. Started with a beige rack (E-bay), 20 mile ride to pick it up (came with a couple 'bonus' drawers in it). Three cans of Black Spray Paint later it looked a little nicer. A couple of old Dells, sit down below (one for music/printer and one Freenas Back-up / test box). Up from there is a new (still to be built out) 4U server case, which will become my main Freenas box, with an IStarusa 5bay mobile rack and room for another when needed. Currently, have a 1.5 TB raid 0 Freenas device in the 3U case which will become my 'project' box. It started life as a MYTH-TV back-end then became a linux Database sever (DB2 and MySQL) but became Nas Box.
The NETGEAR 24 port switch needs to be bumped up to something speedier at some point. Finally the 24 port patch panel and all cables from monoprice.com. FIOS Router on the top shelf (DCT700) on the top of the rack for now.
Thinking about a COAX patch panel to deal with the coax that is split right next to the rack (wonder if I will lose too much signal introducing another connection b/w each run).
<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">
