Yesterday; Good Day for DX on 20 meters.

Yesterday was a good day for DX on 20 meters until the noise floor went S7. I'm a little embarrassed to say but I finally figured out how to effectively use the AF Gain, RF Gain, and AGC in Fast to pull out stations below my noise floor on my TS-530. Much of East Europe was worked with AGC on Fast, AF gain on 5, and RF gain on 6. When I did this I suddenly both heard and worked stations I could not previously hear due to the QRN and QRM. Absolutely amazing to hear Russia appear from "nothing". Not sure what the MUF was tonight but up around 14.280 MHz I could hear massive QRN. Only 100W and some wire here and honestly, these were almost all 1st or 2nd call QSOs in the pile-up. Europe into 4-land was booming.

I missed out on it. (got strep ). Anyway, I worked that TM100B the other night on 30 PSK31 and 40ssb. He was booming. Bands have been decent the last few days and 10/12/15/17 have been open north/south for me as well. Can't wait 'till the flux goes up.

Very nice - I worked that SP9LJD station Saturday evening from Kansas on 20m running 100w and a dipole 40 feet off the ground. Very nice guy. I could only give him a 44/45 and he gave me the same.
