| Raiding as S Priest
I've recently been hitting 25 ulduar as S priest because my guild was in dire need of one. I can't seem to break the 4k dps barrier for most boss fights. I'm pretty confident with my gear I should be able to hit 5k or atleast near it. I'm wondering if any experienced S priests out there have any valuable input for correct rotations and essential add ons (S priest specific - I have all the regular stuff).
My current rotation for a boss fight is a little like this VT > VE > DP > MB > SW: D (if 5 stacks of weaving SW:P - if not MF) then refresh CDs as needed while MF spamming in between.
Thanks in advance! |

| Make sure you use mind blast when it's up. it's usually after 2 mind flays depending on your haste. after my initial DoT up and first mind flay, mind blast is up then MF again then it's time for VT reset then MF then another MB. I'm still in heroic and Naxx 10 epics and I get about 3200 ish DPS on bosses with it. My main spec is healing so my shadow set lacks a little. |

| reply to Grind My Gears The other thing to consider is; you are geared for the raid but is the raid geared for you. If your raid is melee heavy you miss out on some boosting skills from other classes. For instance, my boomkin seems to struggle some nights staying above 3k in 10man. Seems bad till I look around and me and a hunter are the only two ranged dps. The shamen are putting down melee totems and the melee raid effects/debuffs help feed each other. No Spriest for misery around, so I have to shelve my crit trinket for a +hit trink, no bonus spell power from shamy totem, you get the idea. Remember the only two reasonable times to use SW death is opening rotation and when moving, otherwise stay away from it. Always keep DP on the target, and start recasting VT when its timer is down to 1.5 sec (depending on your haste level) keeping dots up is a huge + to dps. |

| reply to Grind My Gears Try using this rotation: VT - MB - DP - MF3 - SWP then keep up dots and MB every time it comes off cooldown. The only time you should use SWD is if you have a window of 1-1.5 seconds with nothing else to cast or if you're moving.
Spriests are a valid dps class now, especially in ulduar. I'm almost always in the top 5 if not 3 and usually top caster dps. |
