Last time i checked you can get a cablecard and buy your own tivo box so wouldnt that invalidate the lawsuit?
If you have TiVo 3, you will need two cable cards. Most companies charge for the 2nd one.

·Verizon FiOS

I have 3 Tivo's series 3 with Fios TV now previously Cox. When i was with Cox 1 dual stream cable was required for each unit. Cox at the time charged $1.99 a month for each of the cable cards. I am now with Fios and I have the same set up using Verizon's Fios at $3.98 per card and have no problems. I have no need for pay per view. I have also purchased lifetime service for the Tivo's's. I have owned a total of 7 Tivo's and since 1998 i have only had one hard drive failure. I contacted weaknees.com and they shipped me a new one I popped that series 2 open swapped it out. I can also say that these old series 2 boxes are still working. I have gifted them to family members as X-mas gift's so in my opinion its worth shelling out the cash for a Tivo's up front and would recommend it to any one who asked me.
