~$70 A Month

Who would pay that much?

If I was to pay $70 a month for unlimited content, there better be no bandwidth caps.

No cable TV of course... Who wants to double pay.

On that, at least, I think we all can agree.

Or, they just have a sense of fairness, prefer being independent, and paying for higher quality. It's their money (and I doubt they're the ones doing any complaining since they probably only buy what they can afford). Of course, buying music in any format simply feeds the RIAA machine... which is stupid, not that the MPAA is better (but I, for one, will buy the occasional DVD--some things I just gots to have ).

Replace DVD with Blu-ray - but, mainly because I have downloaded a 700MB XviD and wanted a far better copy to keep.
If a movie is any good, I'll buy it on Blu-ray(or DVD if no Blu is available).

Now, if the movie sucks - they are SOL!
I'll delete it and look for different movie.

Why do you assume those who buy lots of DVDs and CDs don't have their priorities straight already? Do you think people actually starve themselves to buy movies?

Not everyone has the same hobbies as you. It won't get you anywhere to make judgment calls based on their hobbies.

yes, suckers because they could have use the money for something else better instead of doing with less
less healthy food, less clothes, less of everything else cause they are addicted to movies and music
like any drug addict their craving are so strong that they rather spend it all or borrow money from a friend to satisfy their addiction
not everyone who buy them regularly are fortunate or have money to burn
some do it cause they just want to own everything

not surprising that most only watch it once and let it collect dust afterward
i wouldn't call buying stuff a hobby
i buy lots of computer hardware and didn't call it a hobby
we would call that recklessly spending on things we don't need but want it because we are materialistic or addicted to stuff we want but are not necessary for our needs
