R&V comments on throttling case allowed until June 22nd...

Ok gang,

It is that time again... Time to give input/comments on the Request to Review & Vary the decision previously made on Throttling!

Here are the details on how to do it:

1) Go to:
»support.crtc.gc.ca/crtcsubmissio···x?lang=e

2) Select "Part VII / PN " from the drop down list and then click "Next"

3) In box entitled "Subject" line, insert "CRTC File #:
8662-P8-200907727"

4) In the box entitled "Description / Comments / Questions", insert any comments that you may have on the review and vary application.

5) If you would like to attach a document, select "yes" and follow the instructions for attaching a file.

As indicated in the Title, I believe the deadline is June 22nd, so don't wait to long

PS - R&V details here: »www.crtc.gc.ca/recherche-search/···7&n=e&m=

Regards,

Rocky

I am getting an error when I try to submit at the CRTC website. Hopefully it is because they are getting hammered.

Anybody care to post their responses? I'm having a heavy day a work, but would like to comment as well, or at least plagiarize a couple of yours to make a comment.

I have no beef with my writing skills but it's the weekend and I take french calls, and they all want to get their stuff over and done with today, so they don't have to deal with clients over the weekend.

We get swamped on Fridays...

Comments submitted to the CRTC. After reading a lot of the submissions, it seems that there is a very good case against throttling and hopefully a new decision is made that actually protects the interests of Canadians.

Check your browser. May only work with IE.

Nope not the browser. Doesn't work for me with IE6 either. Guess I won't be posting.

Here it is, complete with typos, spellos, grammos and thinkos:

I choose to receive my broadband internet service from an independent provider, precisely because of the restrictions that Bell (and Rogers) impose on their customers. By throttling my connection, Bell is interfering with the service agreement I have with my provider.

Not only is Bell interfering with my enjoyment, it is also interfering with my work. Encrypted connections from my workplace are throttled, along with high-speed transfers of large file such as images of Linux distributions.

There is NO issue of network congestion -- the only time I suffer from poor connectivity is when Bell imposes its throttling. I can only guess at Bell's motives for imposing throttling, but those guesses range from Bell's failure to maintain their network in order to sustain high speeds and sufficient bandwidth for independent providers, to anti-competitive behaviour forcing the independet providers out of business.

Bell's unilateral actions and anti-competitive practices must be stopped. Canada has gone from a leader in Internet connectivity to an embarrasing second-last place (see Michael Geist's report).
