Re: err, what happened to not riding "our pipes" for free? It'd be neat to see that Mr.Pipes-AT&T was paying ESPN.
Anyone on AT&T want to see if they can get into ESPN 360 and chime in here to let us know? |

1 edit | Well, well. Looky here:

quote: The announcement means that ESPN360.com, which lets you watch all sorts of live sports, whether or not the flagship ESPN channel is broadcasting them, will be available to 41 million homes in time for college football season. Its already available via a host of ISPs, including AT&T[.....]
So when Mr Pipes said, "Why should they be able to use my pipes for free," what he meant was he felt AT&T should be paying Google et-al to use AT&T's pipes.
This entertainment is free of charge. |

So at&t PAYS ESPN for access to ESPN360 then turns around and says content providers should be paying them. So the WHY are they paying ESPN? Not only is ESPN "riding at&t pipes for free" they are geting PAID by at&t. I'd liek to see them explain this contradiction to a Senate committee. |
