| Excellent Earbuds (Yuin PK3 Review)
I was looking for a pair of earbuds (not in-ear canal phones) and was having trouble finding any decent pairs or recommendations for them. My thread here went unanswered, so I figured I'd let anyone know what I ended up with, in case someone else is looking. I've been using a pair of Sonys with my iPod since I hate the pair that comes with the iPod. They weren't anything special though. I tried a pair of Shure IEC phones, and although they sounded great, they were horribly uncomfortable to me. Finally I got around to ordering a pair of a little-known Chinese company who seemed to get raving reviews for all of their headphones. I was between the PK2 and PK3s, but went with the PK3s to start since they were only $40 from Head-direct.com. I'm not an audiophile but I listen to a nice Yamaha 6.1 surround sound setup at home for all my music and the first song I put on these headphones blew me away. The bass is outstanding for a little pair of earbuds - very clean and definitely present. The highs and mids also seem appropriate, but that is to my untrained ear. I can honestly say these are the best sounding headphones I've ever owned. I was planning on spending over $100 to get a decent pair but I'll be sticking with these. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an earbud style headphone. |
