| When six is open, it's stunning. An FM radio has just as much of a chance as an SSB radio does. I know people that have worked New York repeaters from here in SoCal.
The last time I had an antenna for six, it was an Antenna Specialists commercial model, something like a 5/8 over 1/2 wave. I couldn't run more than about 30~40 watts because all the electrical stuff in my building went nuts, but I was getting "60 Over" reports from the midwest.
Six really is the "Magic Band"!
