So anyone knows how many is "excessive" for MJ?

I have a friend who wants to sign up for MJ because she said its unlimited and she can make long calls all day and all night without worrying about the cost. I told her that MJ isn't really unlimited but unfortunately I can not tell her how much is the capped. Unlike Skype which on their website @ 10k minutes.

So anyone here knows the real limit? Or it varies? Based on what I've read, some get 5k minutes, some only 2k before their service gets cut off.

Thanks in advance.

Don't forget the call limit of 30 minutes regardless of how many minutes is considered excessive in a given market.

There has not been a 30 min limit for a while now. It has been 2 hrs. Which for most people is fine... UNLESS one has to call tech support and be on hold forever, then it could pose a problem

If your worried about the calling limit get an MJ and just purchase Skype out for $2.95 a month. You can configure Skype to call out using their softphone and then use MJ's dongle to use your telephone to talk on. This way you can have all the minutes you could ever need without any problem. I played around with this a few weeks ago just for fun. Skype's audio is very clear and had a few phone calls last over an hour without a problem. All you have to do is make sure you stop the MJ software from running before you use it with Skype. Setup Skype to use the tigerjet usb adapter as your receiver and microphone. Sabresfan

That sounds about right (per month usage). It also has to do with how quickly the usage accumulates. One person was on the phone 24 hours a day for 3 days and was terminated.

It also has to do with whether the usage is outgoing or incoming, and whether it's to another MJ user or not. I believe MJ is more concerned with outgoing calls to non MJ users because it has to pay termination fees to the receiver's phone company.

Thanks for the replies.

@sabrefan: My friend isn't that techie to use 2 services at once. She's just excited because MJ was advertised as unlimited calling and it just so happened she buzz me that she will going to sign up with MJ. I told her its not actually limited and when asked I can not give her any solid answer, thats why I turn to you guys...I don't use MJ so I have no idea whats the real limit.

Still I think the right answer is "it varies" whether you are calling another MJ user or whether you accumulated 1k minutes in a couple of days. Otherwise I think she would be fine. The real problem I see is if you use it as your primary number and your service might get cut off all of a sudden because you stayed too long on the phone for some emergency reason.
