| Wireless Connection Issues with Uverse
Just had Uverse installed yesterday. No problems with the TV & wired connection to the computers. The wireless connection for my laptop is another story. Constant drops, varies between 36mps-54mps, fair-excellent, all when the laptop is in its exact same spot. Not sure if I have something set wrong, installer wouldn't offer any help. Speed when connected is EXTREMELY slow (91/56 on the speed test!!).
This was rock solid on my Time Warner/Linksys wireless router setup before so I know it worked.
Suggestions?
Thanks. |

Thanks!! |

1 edit | 2.4 GHz is very crowded, due to WiFi and other devices.
Channels 1, 6, and 11 are the only 3 "true" independent channels. Channels 2-5 overlap with both 1 & 6, and 7-10 overlap with both 6 & 11. And pretty much every 3rd party WiFi router is set to channel 6 by default.
Therefore, channels 1 or 11 tend to give the best performance.
Glad it worked out for ya! |

| Just for grins I set my RG to channel "auto". I have another access point/router already on channel 1. The RG chose channel 11. I moved my access point to 11. The RG stayed on 11 until I recycled it then it automatically went to 1. I wonder if I waited long enough it would have moved on its own. |
