| reply to justin Started off with an Atari 2600, got an Atari 1200XL computer then got nothing for a while until I got a Wii and XBOX 360. And I am 40 years old. I play MW on a PC and Xbox 360 in between the nap times of my 4 month old. In fact, she sometimes watches me play.

1 edit | reply to cjski I hit 30 last March, man does time fly. Gaming is for every age, the deal with "twitch" gaming is... there are a few true twitch games. The ones I consider twitch games are Unreal Tournament, Quake, CS. These fast paced games do require a bit of reflexes but you can also put some good tactics to use in them as well.
In my opinion, having somewhat fast reflexes plus putting in your knowledge of tactics adds to your skill. Knowing the maps helps to
I find myself enjoying the more slow paced tactical games these days. ARMA, OFP, and the like. I did play the Rainbow Six series pretty heavy back in the day. Wish more games like that would come out. I'm still more of a PC gamer than anything. I figure the day that consoles support more keyboard/mouse, 3rd party apps/mod support I will get into them more. I do have fun playing on my friends 360/ps3 from time to time.
My daughter is still to young to really game. She sits in my lap and watches a few games I play, mainly the racing games. We bought her one of those little learning console games and I was surprised at how good she does on it. |

| reply to cjski said by Olias :I plan on playing video games until the brain in my 110 yr. old body can no longer interact my PlayStation 10's neural network. z
This gave me a pretty good laugh.
I am pushing 30 and have grown up with games. First starting at the arcade... then the Atari and later the Nintendo. Around this time I also experimented with older Atari systems, the Colecovision, and some early primitive PC games. Since the Nintendo I have owned all of the major consoles that have released.
When I was a kid, games were pretty much looked at as a kid's toy. Only a few teens and even fewer adults seemed to enjoy them. But as we got older the gaming age gets higher with it.
For the same reason I believe that by the time I am an old man I am sure that gaming will be prevalent throughout all ages.
Gaming never gets old... and you are never too old for gaming -- Insert wisdom here... |

| reply to neonhomer I'm not as old as some of you old farts on here but I'm gettin close. I have to agree with everyone though, you're never too old to enjoy a good video game. My parents are hooked on the Wii and I have all 3 systems along with a couple of high end gaming computers. I'm 32 now and I can remember my first console (Atart 5200) and have had just about every console since then. I'm pretty much a PC gamer now but I do enjoy tossing in a good game to one of the consoles when I don't have the time to play on the PC.
Oh, and I agree with neonhomer , COD4 multiplayer is incredible. It sucked me in instantly. I was a huge fan of the COD and COD2 multiplayer and COD4 is the best of that bunch. -- Does Microsoft mean small and squishy? |

| reply to cjski I just recently picked up a xbox 360, and borrowed Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 from a friend, and have been playing it some. Yesterday, I picked up a used copy of Call of Duty 4, and spent about 2 hrs playing last night. I usually play single player, because I know if I get into the multiplayer world, I will get slayed INSTANTLY!!
Never been much of a gamer. Bought a regular xbox and PS2, and they sat for a while until my 7 yr old son started playing it.
I don't think I am too old, just not experienced enough. -- "F is for Fire that burns down the whole town... U is for Uranium...... Bombs... N is for NO SURVIVORS!!!!!" Sheldon Plankton |

| reply to cjski I'm 45, and video games started getting old for me before I hit 30. I've owned almost every cartridge home console there ever was, including but not limited to:
Colecovision (with Atari 2600 add-on) Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Mattel Intellivision II Maganvox Odyssey II (used) GCE Vectrex Nintendo NES Sega Genesis (with Master System and Sega CD add-ons)
After a couple years with the Genesis, I lost interest in home consoles. It would be many years later when my interest rekindled and in 2000 picked up the Sega Dreamcast. That didn't last long and I wound up selling it a couple years later.
Last year the wife and i picked up a Wii as a mutual anniversary gift. We were hooked again, thanks in part to the Wiimote controllers. It makes games fun again for the non-MMORPG crowd. It doesn't get used every day, but it's a nice distraction once in a while. -- Don't pay ME back, pay it forward. |

| reply to cbrigante2 Actually, Colecovision came out and dominated the market with all the arcade ports. Then Coleco got stupid, they tried to enter the computer market and the Cabbage Patch Kid were the only thing to keep them afloat till they went out of business. By far a better system then anything else in the mid 80s. Then NES came and hooked all the younger gamers with Mario and stole the market after the crash.
I had a Commodore 128d then a PC and got back into consoles with a PS original the Xbox, 360 and Wii. I like mostly racing and puzzle/adventure games. I used to play a lot of Halo when it was new and spent days playing MotoGP on live right after launch.
Being 44 I find myself not keeping up with the younger ones like my 14 YO son. I just have to play against my wife or daughter, then I can almost always win. |
