cshumway : Hello Motorola forum,

I have a Motorola SB6120 attached to Astound cable. When the unit is up, it works great. Speeds are decent and reliable. However, the unit seems to lock up about every 12-24 hours or so. When it locks up, I'm unable to ping its management IP address of 192.168.100.1. Power cycling the modem seems to be the only way to get it up again.

The modem is running as follows:
Model Name: SB6120Vendor Name: MotorolaFirmware Name: SB6120-1.0.1.1-SCM02-NOSHBoot Version: PSPU-Boot 1.0.0.4m1Hardware Version: 1.0Serial Number: 186901901900635605020011Firmware Build Time: Oct 27 2008 15:33:58
Here is the contents of the log since it was purchased a few days ago:

Jun 13 2009 13:23:38 4-Error E206.0 Improper Configuration File CVC FormatJun 13 2009 13:23:37 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:ce:f1:10;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jun 12 2009 08:53:20 4-Error E206.0 Improper Configuration File CVC FormatJun 12 2009 08:53:19 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:ce:f1:10;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jun 11 2009 12:03:24 4-Error E206.0 Improper Configuration File CVC FormatJun 11 2009 12:03:23 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:ce:f1:10;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jun 10 2009 18:02:08 4-Error E206.0 Improper Configuration File CVC FormatJun 10 2009 18:02:07 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:ce:f1:10;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 01 1970 00:01:13 3-Critical R02.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:ce:f1:10;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 19 2009 04:38:15 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:81:43:60;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 01 1970 00:00:52 3-Critical R02.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:81:43:60;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 19 2009 04:36:32 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:81:51:60;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 01 1970 00:00:51 3-Critical R02.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:81:51:60;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 19 2009 04:34:38 6-Notice I401.0 TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:17:10:00:33:ec;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;Jan 01 1970 00:00:46 3-Critical R02.0 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=00:22:10:2b:6a:1b;CMTS-MAC=00:17:10:00:33:ec;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;
The downstream signal:

Channel ID 17 Frequency 723000000 Hz Signal to Noise Ratio 37 dB Downstream Modulation QAM256 Power LevelThe Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested.
