Start with the basics:<br><br>Is the bottom light on the WB modem on indicating that the modem is successfully communicating with the computer and the cable is good?<br><br>If it has them, what are the green and amber lights at the Ethernet connector on the computer doing?<br><br>Is an Ethernet card or port installed on the computer?<br><br>Is the power saver configured to power off the Ethernet card?<br><br>Does the "Network Connections" window display an entry for  "Local Area Connection"?<br><br>Is "802.1p Support" enabled?<br><br>Is "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" enabled?<br><br>Is an IP address being assigned to the computer?<br><br>In "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties\General" is "Obtain an IP address automatically" selected?<br><br>In "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties\General" is "Obtain DNS server address automatically" selected?<br><br>Is DHCP enabled?<br><br>There's more....<br><small>--<br>Value Pack, beam 31, Riverside gateway</small>]]></description>

The Windows New Connection Wizard is apparently not creating another broadband connection on his friend's computer - until the existing one is deleted.
