Re: New Firmware Ver. 1.32b02NA_beta01 for DIR-655

Well now, ain't dlink better organized with the new "beta" folder on the ftp. So let me get this straight... it's now version 1.32 NA, "b02", beta 3, and "final"? LOL, Oooo K....

Did the update on an A3 with previous 1.32NA (which kept settings) and on an A2 with 1.31NA (had to reload settings, saved file worked fine as always).

No quirks to report yet. Having guest zone disabled proper (instead of enabled but set to never) now, no rogue "dlink" SSID showed up after a few router reboots so that's good. Infinite login seems fixed (it eventually times out as expected). I will never enable dns relay ever again so I won't be able to report on that. lol

[Up time with previous 1.32NA on the A3 was 25 days.]

And since Dlink is not known for tight configuration control, I'll mention that while the zip file is dated 7/7, the firmware date when loaded is listed as "1.32NA, 7/1".

Interesting - flashing from beta 2 to beta 3 did not require a reload of the config file.

Hmmm... I don't recall the betas being on the web site, only by ftp. In any case, there is now a Beta 3 Final available dated 7/7. Get it while it's hot.. »ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Beta/Firmware/

Release note changes:

1. Fix Using wireless client to configure Access Control rules, cause DUT reboot.
2. Fix upnp bug. The upnp port will be closed for a short time.
3. Default disable CAPTCHA

Looks like the 1.32 have been pulled. Release notes are dated today (7-7-09) but only talks about 1.31 and lower.

This is the same problem I had on DIR-625 rev c2, and DGL-4500, and disabling DNS relay worked on both routers to resolve the router slowdown and web gui becoming slow after 3-4 days.

Finally disabled DNS Relay and got everything to work, DNS Relay is seriously juiced, N speed back to 270, websites are VERY fast again.

I have the same settings as you except mine is n only and mixed makes no difference. These settings HAVE made a big difference though, running steady now and have my speed back with 1.31.:

Transmit Power - High

Beacon Period - 80

RTS Threshold - 2100

Fragmentation Threshold - 2100

Dtim Interval - 1

802.11 mode - n only

Channel - 11 (or other)

Transmission Rate - Best (Automatic)

Channel Width _ Auto 20/40

Security Mode - WPA-Personal

WPA Mode - WPA2 Only

Set it to 802.11b/g/n
Set it to Auto Channel
Set it to Auto 20/40Hz
Set it to WPA2/DES

Try that see what you get.. I am getting a steady-Eddie 150/300 now. using 1.31.

My wireless speeds got even slower with this one than 1.31 which really borked it. I can't even use the router now, thanks dumb-link. It was perfect till I got dumb and upgraded to 1.31.

I have to say 1.32 b2 seems pretty good now [A3, G only, dns relay off, guest zone enabled but set never]... It's been just over a whole 2 weeks up time with no odd occurrences here. (shocking)
Well that's good, don't be shock maybe someone is getting it right at DLINK. Wait for the DIR-685 hits the USA market. Sure to have some issues with that storage router firmware. I hope they get that right they did something like install a fan in it.

I am on my 3rd day now with 1.32 and no problems yet. I beat my old up time of 2 days 18 hours.

First power cycle after 13 days, surfing was VERY sluggish and cycling fixed it.

Auto Channel
Best MB/s
WPA2/AES

QOs/Wish are left to defaults...

Now I haven't bother to re-flash to the beta as I am getting the above..

How we with this router? I have mine back-up and running again. Long story.. I got DECT 6.0 1.9GHz cordless phones and ditched the 5.8GHz cordless phones as the maker had cheated on these 5.8GHz making the base phone 5.8GHz and the 4 others extenders 2.4GHz boy what a mess on 2.4GHz wireless band. Now that gone. N been wacky with DECT 6.0 friendly wi-fi phone set.
May I ask which 5.8GHz system you were using? I have a Panasonic set with 4 handsets...
Panasonic 2.4GHz was great but they didn't last more than 1.6 years. So I had purchased the top of the line Vtech 5.8GHz DSS 4-phones and base/ans. Those lasted me 3 years well I mean they do work still. Now I got the top of the line Vtech in DECT 6.0 5-phones and base/ans.

Well I do have 150/300Mhz again but I have to have DLINK on don't know what could be it. But the wireless is can't keep the internet connection in AP mode. That was the point on buying the Beklin N+ using Ralink chips found in the DIR-685.
