This has sprinkles of socialism

This is completely anti-Capitalist. The economy is a survival of the fittest, and that's exactly why GM and Chrysler are going down the pooper right now. Why did AT&T and Verizon become behemoths in the telco industry? Because they spent the money, and made the deals to get customers to use their services.

With all the sh*t going on in the world right now, what moron started this discussion in the chambers?

Bringing up Verizon or ATT and mentioning them as examples of capitalism is more than a wee bit revisionist. ATT and Verizon benefited from years of being granted natural monopoly status by the government.
