Re: Line Lock Release

Here is an update for anyone interested:
Speakeasy never ceases to amaze with their customer service. I was contacted directly from a representative of Speakeasy who provided me with detailed information about the line lock release. In my case they had the release to the vendor 24 hours after my request for termination of service. Which is mighty impressive turn around.

When I first moved into my house (in Houston) my options for internet were Comcast, AT&T DSL, and SpeakEasy. I have a hatred for Comcast that goes back to my University days in Boston, so they were a non-starter. I had initially wanted to get AT&T DSL because it was available at an attractive price point. However, their equipment had no free ports to service me at the time. SpeakEasy came to my rescue, and I have loved the service even if it is a bit on the pricey side for what I get. AT&T has just rolled out U-Verse in my neighborhood and I am looking to switch for a number of reasons (unified billing, a bit cheaper, and a few others). I had to cancel my DSL through SpeakEasy to be able to get the process going. This has left me in a lurch with no internet for a week now. AT&T is claiming that SpeakEasy still has not released the line lock. I was wondering if anybody has similar experience with SpeakEasy and can comment on how long it took them to release the lock. I know they are allowed to take up to 2 weeks. I am hoping that it typically takes a much shorter time as it has meant I can't work from home for the last week, and won't be able to until the U-Verse install is complete. Thanks in advance.
