We've been pestered by spam bots for ages but they've grown more sophisticated recently. I've also put in an anon post manual pre-filter that is fairly quick to use so if there is a single mod around they can deal with any pending anon posts, site-wide, within seconds. Delays on anon posts appearing are v short, apart from this one where you posted in the wrong forum and it got moved around.
I think you'll find there are very very few busy communities on the net that allow fully anonymous postings unless they also have a system where the community suppresses those that they don't like (a system that I think leads to group-think).
Second, you don't have to login using clear text, there is a form from the "secure login" link that submits to https rather than http. -- erertert |
