Anyone ever heard of a company called "Treasury Finance Inc"

Note to mods: I am unsure if this is the correct forum for this, please move as appropriate.

I am asking about this company as I saw a job listing for them as a CSR over on CareerBuilder, they seem to be willing to pay a lot more than I would consider standard for a CSR type position, and a google search has been less than revealing. I am looking for the standard "Who are they and what do they do" type information. For those interested in seeing the Job Description: »www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/···0YHGH1H4

Google, and all you get are job postings (and this thread).

As Greg says...Run away

What you and Greg have said matches with my gut about this company. I will not apply for the position and try to put as much distance between myself and said company as I can.

What about state Civil service exams. Even though majority of the states have a budget crisis, they are still hiring, because people need their services.

I was 'hired' by this firm, was sent via Federal Express the next day three money orders for $850.00 each. I was to take them to my bank, cash them, keep 10% and wire the remaining funds to their specified location. I immediately called the money order company and found out that the money orders were bogus and invalid. Had I been stupid enough to follow their directions, I would be left owing my bank over $2,400 when the money orders got returned.

Big time scam, please don't fall for their bullshit!!

This story or ones like it have been on the news alo. I am glad you made the call first!

The do try so hard to sound legitimate. Not only do they steal the money if you deposit it and then forward it, they have been known to steal your identity also. The information you give them is then forwarded to the next person that receives the check and money orders and you are hit a second time.

Glad someone posted they called and found out about the bogus money coming in BEFORE they sent their hard earned money out. Just got the email from this company offering me a position also. First thing I did was check them on the internet and verify if anyone else knew about them. They are getting harder and harder to spot but as you demonstrated ... common sense goes a long way!

Cheers and Ciao

Treasury Finance Inc is a scam. I sent my resume to them and then they sent me information about the job. They said that I would receive money in my bank account that I would then need to send to such and such a company and I would get to keep the 6% that was left over as my own earnings. This is a scam that will get you in trouble with the banks and with the law. If it sounds to good to be true, it most likely is!

Too true, and that is what I was beginning to think when a google search turned up no information on them and that is why I posted here. Knowing what I know now from the people who have posted to this thread, thanks everyone, I will avoid these people like the plague. Rachel1216's quote has also made me suspicious of the following email that showed up in my spam folder today (note that I have removed names and email addresses for privacy reasons):
We recently received your resume from the internet and we'd like to talk to you. We have a position which would allow you the opportunity to earn over $100,000 your first year if you are capable of making just one average sale a day for us. That's right, just one average sale a day. No experience is
necessary. Full training is provided.

We have a proven marketing plan that will provide you with unlimited earning potential including commissions, renewals, bonuses and incentive trips to exciting locations. Excellent benefits package for those who qualify. We only require honesty, hard work and dependable transportation. In addition, by simply meeting the qualifications, you can advance into management.

Greg, would you care to expand on the Civil Service for me?

Tell that to my brother, former state employee.

The PA Gov in Jan
"The state now is staring at a fiscal year-end revenue shortfall of $2.3 billion, or $700 million more than was projected last month. Gov. Ed Rendell announced today.

"It's just a sign of the times," he said, at a Capitol news conference.

He predicted some government employee layoffs will be necessary as a result of program cuts in next year's budget, but offered no specifics."

Same with our state. Our agency unit is a Federally funded unit, so if the CS stops collecting, then we can start sweating. Matter of fact, we have been doing OT for the past 3 months, and because Fiscal Year is ending, they are stopping it on 6/30, and resuming next FY.
