Some older Abit BIOS for IP35 will report the wrong temp. Check your existing bios and update from this thread »forums.hexus.net/abit-care-hexus···ing.html

Conversely, I'd say go by your CPU temperature; I'd trust Intel's engineering over Abit's any day of the week. The only real way to confirm the problem is to pop out your CPU and test it in another board. Is the system performing well or slowing up from overheating?
you're right. I was thinking the motherboard had to do the measurements. I believe that was the case on the older CPUs without an internal temperature diode.

i would go with the bios temperature.

also keep in mind ambient temperature affects your cpu temperature a great deal.

As of right now my bios temps of my IP35 reads about 30 degrees higher than Coretemp or RealTemp. Also my distance to TJMax is now lower than before. all in the low 50c range, before it was in the 60c area.

which bios reading should i go by, realtemp/coretemp or the bios?

thanks
