We have several new ethnic gangs here in Ottawa that tend to taint some perceptions, particularly the new Somali arrivals (aka Ledbury-Crips). Thankfully, they have used violence sparingly and have kept it confined to their intended targets when they do strike. They were migrating West, but the Oil bust brought most back. Not impossible that they have some members out East looking for "opportunities".

"Witnesses saw a black man wearing a dark, baggy jacket fire three shots and then run away after Monday's shooting.

Staff Sgt. Sean Auld tells News 95.7, witnesses to last night's shooting saw someone similar fleeing the scene."
