| The only thing we have had happen with Digital Loggers is that on one occasion, at two sites, the units defaulted back to factory settings. Not enough to tell you not to buy them, but just keep that in mind. I actually like them and they have saved us many trips to just reboot a radio. | |

Smeghead -- When they blow a lan card does that cause downtime?

| Yes, all the devices will be off. The outlets are set to "off" by default. We have firmware version 2.2.4, I don't know if that has been changed in the newer firmwares. This brings me to one negative, the only I can think of, against these units--they need to be sent back to the manufacturer for firmware upgrades. One of the units is at least 4 years old, just like Timex--"takes a licking, and keeps on ticking". | |

| In response to the first post, yes, we do use Nighthawk Systems rebooters. The nice and unusual thing about them is the reboot is controlled by a pager signal - completely independently of the Internet. Since we have some wireless nodes which are accessible only by wireless Internet connection, having that alternative access option has been really helpful when the wireless radios have frozen up.
