You should let us know what kind of equipment they are installing for you. Also ask what frequency they use.

I can tell you this, a WISP *can* be good but due to the nature of wireless variable latency is quite common.

When the installer comes this is what *I* would personally ask (as a fellow gamer, however PC owns console newbs just FWIW ) - which they may or may not choose to answer:

1. What brands/types/frequency of customer equipment do they support/use (ie Canopy, Ubiquity... 2.4Ghz, 5.8ghz, etc)

2. How far away is their tower and what gear do they use for backhaul.

3. How many customers share your tower in particular now and what is their projected loading? (ie how new is it?)

4. What is their Internet backbone connection, and do they do any traffic shaping or prioritization?

The above would tell a wireless network guy what to expect pretty much...

Well the tower is like 5 miles away. We also live on a hill, so that helps. I can't really answer the other Q's just yet though. I will take pics after the install. How its ran into the house, where its mounted on the house and such.
