1) backup your config (mark the FW revision in filename) ..just in case 2) take screenshots of your current configuration (for manual entry later) 3) reboot zywall 4) upgrade firmware (upload the .bin file) 5) reset to factory defaults (hold down the HW reset button for 10 sec, or reset through GUI) 6) reconfigure by hand from scratch, do not load old config
.rom is default configuration settings (same as factory reset) It is included in the firmware itself too, so when you do factory reset (as described above) default settings are loaded
