Re: 2701HG-B wireless question

To answer your question; Yes. Disabling the wireless feature of any 2WIRE does stop it from broadcasting a wireless signal entirely.

However, wireless signals are as common as sunlight now a days. You can't really get away from them unless you're in a very rural area or in the middle of no where. While it has been stated that wireless signals can cause tumors its exceedingly rare (to the point of impossible) that a wireless signal is the catalyst for the development of a tumor. The exposure is simply not intense enough; exposure to sunlight has a better chance at causing skin cancer then does exposure to a Wi-Fi or wireless signal have at causing a tumor. I wouldn't worry about you're wireless causing any complications.

Glad to hear you're doing well.

Thanks for the answer Randomgnome.

I'm well aware that I cannot escape wireless altogether, like you said it's everywhere - I just meant that I wanted to stop using wireless personally such as a cell phone or a wireless router which is 2 feet from my head. It's highly likely that it did not cause the tumor but there is a very small chance that it did (according to my brother the neurologist) and that's good enough reason for me. Wireless is a relatively new technology and we probably will not know the full effects (if any) for many years to come.
