4 edits | Re: Space Shuttle Endeavor Was thinking of driving up solo.... friend I did it last time scrubbed (March) and was going to Friday (when this one forst scrubbed) just got out of hospital from knee surgery.
Was near going, but I scrubbed it myself when there was the tanking delay for weather at 8:30pm.
To get there in time I would have to leave KW by 9:30p and not about to do that if they hadn't even started tanking, and preferably an hour in.
Now glad I thought that a good idea.
Vs being up to West Palm by scrub time 1:55am
And te astronauts were fully suited up and ready to head out, but 2am was there boarding time.
Now I wonder if LMO/LCROS liftoff will still be delayed until Thurs, originally scheduled for Wed. (Lunar Orbiter and Lunar crater Collision craft) Similar to the asterod mission collision observation a year or so back. Sma vehilcle... the booster will be taken along though. The observation orbiter will stay there, then a second craft will sparate from the booter and crash it into a moon crater... floowing close behind and sending back the crash expulsione debris data bfore it too crashes.
Other than Hoygen I think only other single lauch dual mission launch.

| Here in Orlando for the week and I would have been able to see the shuttle fly over. Oh well, 0530 came and heard the news. But was able to go back to bed.

But it would have flown in an arch, towards the north I think, if you were looking east.
