Irish Clearwire issue
I got Clearwire about a week ago. Has not worked at all for me. (I'm in Ireland) It gives me the welcoming screen and after I clicked on the link to continue, I get the msg "this modem is not registered to our network. Pls contact customer care." I checked everything on my side of the modem: I pinged the modem, it replied, ipconfig, all seems normal besides for the kinda strange Tunnels that I see in the report and all five lights are burning steadily. When I try to ping Google or even Clearwire.ie I get request timed out.
So, there is a connection between my comp and the modem and the modem is connected, it seems. Yet, nothing gets through and I get those stupid msgs all the time. Heck, I even installed a fresh copy of my OS on an empty partition to make sure the problem's not on my side, checked the BIOS, everything correct. Still it doesn't work. Tried 64bit XP, no success, fresh install, no success; regular WinXP install: no success.
The helpdesk is a joke: all they do is make me switch off the modem for then 5 minutes, then 30 minutes and again. Case is escalated, got phonecall from 3rd level saying they changed something and I should try. Still not working. Then they say they don't know what's going on, but they don't believe the problem is on their side of things.
There must be communication between my comp and the modem as otherwise I would not have gotten those clearwire screens, they are in no way installed on my computer somewhere.
Anybody out there who had the same issue? If yes, what was it, was it resolved and how? Thanks, because I start thinking of terminating the contract and take another ISP which will work.
